Those who backpack know that the love of it comes from being immersed in a new culture. One way to do this is through language. Not only does knowing the local language make getting around easier, but it also helps you connect with people. Duolingo aims to better the backpacking experience by encouraging language exchange among backpackers and making language learning a part of the travel experience.
